Spain
Spain is one of Europe's largest providers of fertility treatment. Oversight is shared between the Ministry of Health, its advisory commission (CNRHA), and the autonomous communities, which authorise individual clinics. A national activity and results register is run by the SEF.
How care is organised
Spain is a well-known destination for fertility treatment, delivered through public and private clinics. Assisted reproduction is part of the public health system for eligible patients, but access conditions such as age limits and the number of cycles are set by the autonomous communities, so they vary depending on where you are.
Regulation and finding a clinic
Oversight is shared: the Ministry of Health, advised by the CNRHA, sets the national framework, while individual clinics are authorised by the autonomous communities. The Spanish Fertility Society (SEF) maintains a national activity and results register, which reports outcomes rather than acting as a licence list. Because there is no single national directory of licensed clinics, confirm a clinic’s authorisation through the relevant regional authority.
Find a clinic in Spain
There is no single public register of clinics here. Use the official authority below as your starting point, and verify any clinic directly. We do not list individual clinics until each one is independently verified.
