United Kingdom
Fertility care in the United Kingdom is regulated by the HFEA, which licenses clinics and keeps a public register. Treatment is available through both the NHS and private clinics, and eligibility for NHS-funded treatment is decided locally, so it varies by area.
How care is organised
Fertility care in the UK is available through the NHS and through private clinics. Whether you qualify for NHS-funded treatment — and how many cycles you can access — depends on where you live, because eligibility is set locally by your Integrated Care Board. It is worth checking the rules that apply in your area with your GP or local NHS service, as they change over time.
Regulation
The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) licenses clinics, sets standards, and publishes independent information about treatments and treatment “add-ons”. Its public register lets you check a clinic’s licence status and published outcomes — see our choosing a clinic guide for how to use it well.

Use the official register to find and check real, licensed clinics. We do not list individual clinics here until each one is independently verified.

Every clinic in the HFEA tool is licensed; you can compare treatments, ratings, inspection findings and success rates.
